Hakobel announced on October 28th that it has added a "driver reservation function" to the driver app for its truck reservation/acceptance system, "Truck Book".

The "driver reservation function" is a system that allows drivers to make entry reservations from their devices. This means that the entry reservation function can be used even for transportation methods where the exact loading and unloading times are only known on the day of operation, such as milk run transport and shuttle transport.
Up until now, the "Truck Log" system has used three reservation methods: "reservation of reservation time by the transportation company," "allocation of reservation time from the facility to the transportation company," and "a system in which the transportation company reserves reservation time from the slots set by the facility."
However, the three booking methods mentioned above had a problem: they couldn't accommodate milk run or shuttle transport. These transport methods involve multiple round trips between the loading and delivery locations throughout the day, and the exact arrival time can only be set after the most recent delivery is completed.
This new feature allows drivers to set entry reservation times on-site, enabling more realistic responses even with this type of transportation. Facilities implementing the system can also improve the efficiency of in-warehouse operations such as cargo handling, as they will know in advance which trucks will arrive and at what time.
Hakobel states that it will continue to improve the usability of its "Truck Log" system, and through its adoption and use by even more companies, will contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics industry.
