20251028JP01 - Japan Post / New Year's greeting card stickers with gift options available, ranging from 500 yen to 5000 yen.

The system works by attaching the sticker to a postcard or letter and mailing it; the recipient can access a website via the QR code printed on the sticker and choose their preferred gift.

Customers can choose between a "delivery gift" that is delivered to the recipient's home, or a "digital gift" that can be displayed on a smartphone and used as a gift certificate or coupon at coffee and restaurant chains.

The "POST & GIFT" New Year's postcards sold in 2024 had QR codes printed on the postcards themselves, but this year's "POST and GIFT for New Year's 2026" has a QR code printed on a sticker, so it can be used on regular postcards and letters as well.

The stamps will be sold at 3499 post offices throughout Japan, as well as online at the Japan Post online shop "Stamp & Postcard Store" and Rakuten Market.

There are four types and tax-inclusive prices: 550 yen (450,000 issued), 1100 yen (350,000 issued), 3300 yen (150,000 issued), and 5500 yen (50,000 issued). These correspond to a value of 500 yen, 1000 yen, 3000 yen, and 5000 yen, respectively.

The 550 yen option is available as a digital gift only, while the 1100 yen, 3300 yen, and 5500 yen options offer a choice between digital and physical delivery.

郵便局での販売期間は2025年10月30日9時から2026年1月9日までで、オンラインでの販売期間は2025年10月30日9時から2026年1月7日23時59分まで。

The gift application period is from December 24, 2025 to May 31, 2026.

Nippon Express Baseball Club pitcher Fujii was selected in the 5th round of the draft by Chiba Lotte.
