On October 19, Askul announced an update on its recovery efforts, following its previous first and second reports regarding system failures caused by ransomware infections.

The company has established a manual shipping scheme that does not use a Warehouse Management System (WMS), and began a trial operation on October 29th to ship 37 items, including copy paper, from two locations: the Shinkiba Logistics Center (ASKUL LOGIST's distribution base) and the ASKUL Osaka DC. At the start of the trial, orders are only being accepted from a limited number of customers, including medical institutions and nursing care facilities, but the company plans to expand the number of customers and products ordering from them in the future after confirming the operation is successful.

This trial operation will be conducted manually without using a WMS, and the WMS recovery schedule has not yet been determined. The shipping operations of ASKUL LOGIST's 3PL business, which are operated using a WMS, are not included in this trial operation.

Moving forward, based on the results of the shipping trial operation, we will gradually expand operations after confirming scalability. Until full-scale service can resume following the restoration of the WMS system, we will explore all possible means to ensure that products are delivered to customers.

Currently, we are continuing a detailed analysis of system logs, monitoring for anomalies, and conducting a thorough investigation into the cause and scope of the failure. While no leakage of personal information has been confirmed at this time, we will report any such leakage promptly.
