On October 30, Daiwa Logistics announced that, in order to address the worsening shortage of truck drivers, it will participate as a user in the "commercial operation" of T2's self-driving trucks, which will transport goods for logistics companies and other businesses along trunk lines.

Starting in January 2026, it will be used to transport building materials and equipment for residential use to Daiwa House Industry.

Daiwa Logistics recognized the potential of T2, which aims to launch trunk line transportation services using Level 4 autonomous trucks in 2027, and invested in the company in 2023.

Since the beginning of 2025, Daiwa Logistics has conducted four demonstrations between July and October of incorporating T2's autonomous trucks into trunk line transportation as part of the "procurement logistics" scheme it provides to Daiwa House Industry.

Based on the demonstration results, we confirmed that T2's autonomous trucks can guarantee the same level of transportation quality and safety as existing operations, and therefore we have reached an agreement with T2 to participate in commercial operations.

Starting in January 2026, T2's autonomous trucks will be incorporated into the procurement and logistics scheme, similar to the demonstration project.

Daiwa House Industry's "Nara Factory" in Nara Prefecture to Daiwa Logistics' "Ebina Logistics Center" in Kanagawa Prefecture, will begin transporting building materials and equipment for housing on a route of approximately 450 km from Kumiyama JCT (Kyoto Prefecture) to Ebina JCT (Kanagawa Prefecture), and will establish a regular service.

Furthermore, we will consider using T2's autonomous trucks for transportation for existing clients other than Daiwa House Industry.

Based on its experience in commercial operations, Yamato Logistics is accelerating preparations for the use of Level 4 autonomous trucks for trunk line transportation services. The company aims to build new logistics services to prepare for future logistics crises.
