According to the second-quarter financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Hamakyo Rex on October 30, net sales were 75.424 billion yen (up 4.5% year-on-year), operating profit was 7.16 billion yen (up 11.0%), ordinary profit was 7.725 billion yen (up 11.0%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 4.831 billion yen (up 12.8%).
By segment, the logistics center business recorded sales of 48.839 billion yen (up 5.4%) and operating profit of 6.457 billion yen (up 14.3%). The increase in both sales and profit was due to improvements in logistics center operations, the successive contributions of new centers contracted in the previous and current consolidated fiscal years, and the effects of M&A.
In addition, the freight trucking business reported sales of 26.585 billion yen (up 2.9%) and operating profit of 730 million yen (down 7.2%). While revenue increased due to negotiations for freight rate increases and the effects of M&A, profits decreased due to increased costs such as outsourcing expenses and acquisition fees incurred from M&A.
Going forward, the company plans to increase the volume of goods transported, reduce transportation costs through enhanced management, and establish a specialized business development department at Kinbutsu Rex to acquire new projects and expand transactions within the group, thereby improving profitability.
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 1530 billion yen (up 4.3%), operating profit of 139 billion yen (up 5.2%), ordinary profit of 150 billion yen (up 5.0%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 94 billion yen (up 5.2%).
