Yoshida Transport and KlimaDAO JAPAN, which promotes climate change countermeasures utilizing Web3 and blockchain technology, announced on October 31 that they will work together to create carbon credits through improved logistics efficiency.

Yoshida Transport operates inland container terminals and promotes container round-use (CRU), shortening container transport distances to ports and reducing the amount of empty return trips of loaded containers. This contributes to improved logistics efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.

Through this partnership, Yoshida Transport aims to accurately calculate and verify the CO2 emissions reduced by its existing initiatives, particularly dry ports and CRUs, by utilizing KlimaDAO JAPAN's technology and expertise, and to create highly transparent carbon credits.

Furthermore, we will jointly explore the creation of a trading platform for digitized carbon credits and the development of an ecosystem that will leverage the profits and insights gained through these initiatives to further improve infrastructure efficiency and decarbonization investments.

By combining their respective strengths—innovative technology and logistics expertise—the two companies aim to accelerate the decarbonization of the logistics industry and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by establishing carbon credit creation and utilization as a new pillar of their business.
