By utilizing the late-night freighter service operating between Kitakyushu and Haneda, a transportation flow has been established to transport live conger eels, groupers, and red snapper from Daikei, a fisheries business in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture, to restaurants in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. Users have expressed their delight, saying, "This is a groundbreaking development that will bring about a major change in the distribution industry. It will also lead to the development of new business partners and the expansion of overseas markets."

Depending on the type of fish and the ambient temperature, you can choose between ambient and refrigerated transport. For ambient transport, the live fish are placed in a special styrofoam box, which is then placed in a waterproof tray to prevent water leakage.

For refrigerated transport, we utilize our own cool containers, enabling us to transport goods at a stable temperature regardless of the season or outside temperature.

With the increase in inbound tourism, there is a growing demand for fresh, live fish in consumer areas such as Tokyo. However, live fish are mainly transported by truck, making frequent, small-lot shipments difficult. Furthermore, a shortage of truck drivers makes it challenging to maintain stable long-distance transport by land.

Against this backdrop, Yamato Transport plans to contribute to the development of local fisheries, regional revitalization, and the expansion of new sales channels and the creation of demand through the transportation of live fish using its freighters.

JAL/Freighter plans for the second half of fiscal year 2025, including Narita-Bangkok route operations, have been decided.
