On October 31, GLP Japan announced that it has officially launched its "GLP Circular Economy" initiative in reverse logistics as part of its efforts to promote a circular economy aimed at the efficient circulation of resources.
On the same day, GLP signed a business partnership agreement with Treasure Factory, which operates more than 300 reuse shops. They will provide recycling and reuse services to companies located in GLP's logistics facilities.

Specifically, the aim is to reduce CO2 emissions through "providing optimal packaging materials" and "joint transportation of waste," while also transforming waste treatment into "recycling and reuse." This will support tenant companies in reducing their environmental impact in reverse logistics and enable them to reduce and profit from waste disposal costs.
By collaborating with Shizai, we propose optimal packaging materials, such as cardboard boxes and individual packaging, tailored to the products of our tenant companies. Our goal is to reduce procurement costs, create surplus shelf space, and minimize the purchase of unnecessary materials.
In the joint waste transportation service, GLP Japan's partner companies arrange trucks and vehicles to jointly collect cardboard, stretch film, PP bands, and other materials generated at logistics sites. This allows tenant companies to receive a higher price for their materials than if they were to request collection individually, and also improves the recycling rate. Miyazaki (headquarters: Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture) is a partner company, and the service is already operating as "ALFALINK Express" at "GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama" and surrounding facilities.
Furthermore, regarding recycling and reuse, Treasure Factory will purchase returned goods and unsold inventory for a fee. This will allow tenant companies to monetize items they previously had to dispose of at a cost, and will also lead to a reduction in waste.
GLP Japan has previously provided one-stop support to help various tenant companies solve their problems through its "GLP Concierge" service, but has faced challenges in the area of reverse logistics due to delays in its response. Moving forward, the company plans to expand its partner companies, starting with Treasure Factory, Shizai, and Miyazaki, and extend this initiative to GLP's logistics facilities nationwide.
