In the port international sector, while domestic project transportation orders and maritime container handling volumes are decreasing, overseas project transportation orders are increasing, and unit prices are being raised in the Middle East region.
We implemented price increases at some of our major clients for 3PL operations. In general logistics, transportation operations, mainly for automotive parts and consumer goods within China, were sluggish due to weak domestic demand, but profitability improved at some subsidiaries due to cost reduction effects. In addition, the handling of spot work and other similar services increased domestically.
Within the company, improvements in profitability are being seen due to factors such as the commencement of new projects with domestic and international clients, and the withdrawal of unprofitable projects overseas.
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 6245 billion yen (up 2.9%), operating profit of 420 billion yen (down 4.4%), ordinary profit of 410 billion yen (down 8.2%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 300 billion yen (down 2.4%).
