On November 5, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism newly certified two terminals, "Osaka Port Yumeshima Container Terminal C10, C11, C12" and "Hachinohe Port Multipurpose International Logistics Terminal," under a system that evaluates and certifies initiatives related to the formation of carbon-neutral ports (CNPs), such as upgrading port functions with consideration for decarbonization and improving the environment for accepting hydrogen and ammonia.

As part of its efforts to promote the formation of CNPs (Container Port Ports), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism launched the "CNP Certification (Container Terminal)" system in June, which evaluates the implementation status of decarbonization efforts at container terminals on a five-level scale from 1 to 5. To date, five terminals have been certified.
For newly certified terminals, a certificate presentation ceremony will be held at the relevant regional development bureau at a later date.
