Hacobu has enhanced the functionality of its fleet management service "MOVO Fleet" for the automotive industry, and Hino Global Logistics has been using it at Hino Motors' Koga Plant since October.

The three companies will collaborate to visualize the time spent waiting for and handling cargo, thereby addressing the challenges facing logistics in 2024 and promoting operational efficiency.

The delivery planning dashboard of "MOVO Fleet," which allows for centralized, real-time management of vehicle status, has been newly equipped with GPS positioning data correction and cleansing functions. This ensures that collected data is consistent and can be used as accurate and reliable information.

For Hino trucks, location information is obtained through the "HINO-CONNECT" ICT service, which is standard equipment on all vehicles. For trucks from other manufacturers, location information is obtained from a cigarette lighter socket-mounted GPS terminal provided by Hacobu.

The system prevents misjudgments of minor positional differences within the factory premises, while automatically and accurately acquiring the arrival and departure times for each truck without requiring driver intervention. Because it enables trend analysis for each truck and real-time monitoring of loading/unloading delays, the company aims to use this information for daily and weekly improvement activities and increased efficiency.

In the automotive manufacturing industry, the just-in-time system, which involves producing what is needed, when it is needed, and in the required quantity, has become the mainstream. Three companies are working together to accurately track which gate a parts delivery truck entered and left the vehicle production plant and when, as this will lead to thorough production management and a reduction in driver working hours.

Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso have finalized management structure for their holding company "Archon," including outside directors.
