According to the second-quarter (interim) financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Sumitomo Warehouse on November 6, net sales were 96.69 billion yen (up 1.5% year-on-year), operating profit was 5.424 billion yen (down 14.8%), ordinary profit was 7.654 billion yen (down 7.5%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 69 billion yen (up 33.8%).
In the logistics business as a whole, sales were 91.605 billion yen (up 1.7%), and operating profit was 6.502 billion yen (down 5.5%).
Of these, the warehousing business saw increased revenue of 16.475 billion yen (a 3.4% increase) due to increased handling of transportation equipment parts and other related items.
Port transportation revenue increased to 16.858 billion yen (a 7.1% increase) due to increased handling of both general cargo and container cargo.
In the international transport industry, the volume of international through transport decreased, while the volume handled by overseas subsidiaries recovered. However, the appreciation of the yen resulted in international transport revenue of 26.321 billion yen (down 2.0%).
In other business areas, the information systems subsidiary performed well, resulting in land transportation and other revenues reaching 31.949 billion yen (a 1.3% increase).
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 1970 billion yen (up 1.9%), operating profit of 120 billion yen (down 9.6%), ordinary profit of 163 billion yen (down 6.8%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 174 billion yen (down 13.3%).
