On November 7, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that it will be accepting applications for the second round of the "Project to Improve Labor Productivity for Small and Medium-Sized Logistics Businesses (Support for the Introduction of Tailgate Lifts, etc.)" under the supplementary budget for fiscal year 2024 from January 13 to 26, 2026.

This program provides subsidies for a portion of the costs incurred when small and medium-sized logistics businesses introduce equipment and systems that contribute to improving productivity. It is available to truck transport businesses and other similar entities that introduce equipment between December 1, 2025, and February 6, 2026.

In the project to introduce equipment that improves the efficiency of vehicles, subsidies are provided for "tailgate lifters," "truck-mounted cranes," "two-tiered decks for trucks," and "double-trailer trucks."

The business efficiency improvement program will cover systems such as "reservation acceptance system," "ASN system," "order information pre-confirmation system," "pallet management system," "vehicle dispatch planning system," "freight matching system," "operation and labor management system," "electronic contract system," and "vehicle movement management system." In addition, subsidies will be provided for the introduction of cost management systems and obtaining large vehicle licenses.

Further details will be published later on the website of the organizing body, the All Japan Truck Association.
