According to the second-quarter (interim) financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Mitsui Soko Holdings on November 7, net sales were 147.09 billion yen (up 6.0% year-on-year), operating profit was 11.628 billion yen (up 22.9%), ordinary profit was 11.501 billion yen (up 21.0%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 5.589 billion yen (down 4.4%).
By segment, the logistics business saw sales of 143.646 billion yen (up 5.5% year-on-year) and operating profit of 12.862 billion yen (up 15.2%). The increase in both sales and profits was due to increased handling of air cargo. The company focused on acquiring new business in key areas outlined in its medium-term management plan, which led to full-year contributions from logistics bases opened overseas (Europe) in the previous fiscal year and the launch of new healthcare business domestically.
The business environment is characterized by a pause in inventory adjustments for raw materials and parts by client companies, with domestic cargo movements remaining flat. Air cargo movements are strong, and air and sea freight rates are largely unchanged.
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 2940 billion yen (up 4.7%), operating profit of 215 billion yen (up 20.6%), ordinary profit of 205 billion yen (up 13.7%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 105 billion yen (up 4.6%).
