According to the second-quarter financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Kuribayashi Steamship Co., Ltd. on November 7, net sales were 26.618 billion yen (up 1.3% year-on-year), operating profit was 1.398 billion yen (up 0.6%), ordinary profit was 1.61 billion yen (up 12.8%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 979 million yen (up 84.4%).

Sales in the shipping business were 24.954 billion yen (up 1.1%), operating expenses were 23.613 billion yen (up 0.5%), and operating profit was 1.341 billion yen (up 13.6%).

On the regular shipping routes to Hokkaido, the transport of paper products and raw materials, which constitute the majority of cargo, increased. In addition, efficient trailer allocation at each port, coupled with steady performance in general cargo and commercial vehicle shipments, resulted in increased revenue and profits.

In coastal shipping routes, due to the sluggish charter market, profitability was prioritized, mainly on routes between three countries, and efficient vessel allocation resulted in decreased revenue but increased profits.

For the full year, the company projects net sales of 53.747 billion yen (up 1.3%), operating profit of 2.517 billion yen (down 7.0%), ordinary profit of 3.151 billion yen (down 4.6%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 3.792 billion yen (up 88.3%).
