According to the financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Sakai Moving Center on November 10, net sales were 60.724 billion yen (up 2.6% year-on-year), operating profit was 6.531 billion yen (down 11%), ordinary profit was 6.675 billion yen (down 0.9%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 43 billion yen (down 5.2%).
The moving industry continues to face challenging conditions, as while the number of people moving remains stable, the number of new housing starts is declining due to a backlash from the rush of construction following legal revisions.
Under these circumstances, the group has been promoting measures such as continuous improvements in working conditions and the distribution of new uniforms, with the aim of improving employee retention and strengthening recruitment capabilities.
However, in addition to these initiatives, the expenses related to shareholder benefits also increased due to the rise in individual shareholders, resulting in a decrease in operating profit compared to the same period of the previous year.
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 103.48 billion yen (up 3.7%), operating profit of 11.675 billion yen (up 1.2%), ordinary profit of 11.944 billion yen (up 1.7%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 7.962 billion yen (up 1.7%).
