According to the second quarter (interim) financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by Fukuyama Transport on November 11, net sales were 153.573 billion yen (up 4.6% year-on-year), operating profit was 3.612 billion yen (down 19.5%), ordinary profit was 4.463 billion yen (down 26.7%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 3.042 billion yen (down 44.3%).

Looking at the segments, the transportation business leveraged its strength in providing transportation services for cargo of various weights and shapes to secure volume and revise freight contracts. However, it was not enough to absorb rising costs such as depreciation expenses, resulting in sales of 119.335 billion yen (up 4.6%) and operating profit of 23 billion yen (down 24.6%).

In the chartered train business, sales increased to 12.928 billion yen (up 5.3%) and operating profit increased to 1.16 billion yen (up 7.9%). This was achieved through the development of a highly convenient system for partner companies and insurance services to ensure peace of mind.

In the distribution and processing business, sales increased through aggressive new business development centered on integrated multimodal transport services utilizing expanded warehouse capabilities. In addition, as a result of working to revise unit prices to adapt to costs such as personnel expenses, construction costs, and utility costs, sales reached 11.66 billion yen (up 5.4%) and operating profit reached 1.953 billion yen (up 17.4%).

In its international business, the company's gross profit margin declined due to insufficient passing on of ocean freight charges to customers. However, it achieved increased profits through the expansion of its overseas trucking business and an increase in the number of customs clearance transactions. Furthermore, in August 2025, the company acquired a company in Thailand whose main business is freight forwarding, strengthening its international network. As a result, sales reached 6.074 billion yen (up 4.9%) and operating profit reached 169 million yen (up 5.0%).

For the full year, the company projects net sales of 3163 billion yen (up 4.6%), operating profit of 81 billion yen (up 10.0%), ordinary profit of 97 billion yen (down 2.2%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 130 billion yen (up 48.6%).

Eastern Network's Financial Results: Sales down 4.8% from April to September, operating profit up 37.8%
