On November 12, Happinet announced that its subsidiary, Happinet Logistics Service, had introduced its "foldable container (Oricon)" delivery service, which it had been working on since 2022, to 700 client stores in September 2025.

Oricon is a reusable plastic container that allows for the safe delivery of goods without the need for cushioning materials, making it a circular packaging solution. In July 2022, a trial implementation began at nine stores near Osaka, and since then, the introduction of new Oricon containers has expanded to 700 stores by September 2025.

For their business partners, the reduced effort involved in unpacking compared to cardboard boxes and the resulting reduction in waste disposal have contributed to increased efficiency in stocking operations. The adoption rates of Oricon deliveries in stores across the four companies in the group that have adopted Oricon deliveries are approximately 70%, 84%, and 67% in the Kanto, Kansai, and Chugoku/Shikoku regions, respectively.

In fiscal year 2024, the number of cardboard boxes reduced reached 168,332, approximately 1.38 times the number from the previous year. CO2 emissions decreased by approximately 50% compared to a scenario without the use of cardboard boxes, resulting in an annual reduction of approximately 122 tons of CO2. This is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 13,600 cedar trees in one year.

The company aims to introduce the system to 1200 stores by 2028, and will continue to work towards further reducing its environmental impact.

Meanwhile, in April 2023, Happinet introduced the "Green Power Supply Service" provided by Mitsui Fudosan at its Kanto-based "Happinet Funabashi Logistics Center" (Funabashi LC). By making all the electricity used at the facility green, they effectively switched to electricity derived from renewable energy.

The Green Power Supply Service is a service that provides electricity used in office buildings and other properties owned and leased by Mitsui Fudosan as effectively renewable energy through the use of "tracking-enabled non-fossil fuel certificates." Funabashi LC, being a tenant in a property owned and leased by Mitsui Fudosan, was in an environment where it was difficult to install solar panels and other equipment itself. However, by introducing this service, they were able to switch to effectively renewable energy without the need for additional special equipment or changes in on-site operations. By adopting green power, they have reduced their annual electricity consumption by approximately 40 kWh and CO2 emissions by approximately 180 tons of CO2.

In September 2024, 915 solar panels were installed on the roof of the warehouse building at the Happinet Ichikawa Logistics Center (Ichikawa LC). The solar panels have a power generation capacity of approximately 360kW, which will cover about 15% of the facility's total electricity consumption, and is expected to reduce annual emissions by approximately 150 t-CO₂.

Furthermore, the solar power generation system provides business continuity planning (BCP) capabilities that allow for the avoidance of power outages and the continuation of a minimum power supply even during large-scale disasters such as earthquakes. Although no energy storage equipment is installed, even if the power is cut off due to a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake, the solar power generation equipment can still supply power during the blackout, provided it is not damaged.
