On November 13, Ascend announced that it had raised a total of 11 billion yen in its Series B funding round through a third-party allocation of shares to existing shareholders and new investors, with Globis Capital Partners as the lead investor, as well as through loans from financial institutions. This brings the total amount raised to approximately 18 billion yen.
With this funding, we will build a new logistics network infrastructure that connects carriers, shippers, and partner companies across the board, starting with "Logix," the transportation management platform that we launched in 2022, and strengthen new business development with a view to transforming the entire supply chain.
Logix has been adopted by transportation companies nationwide in approximately three years since its release and continues to expand. The company has adopted a "Vertical Conglomerate" strategy that transforms the entire value chain by diversifying its business into 4PL/3PL (logistics execution) and M&A, with Logix as its core business.
Specifically, we aim to build a data-driven logistics system using data obtained through Logistics as a starting point, and to establish a foundation for utilizing data throughout the entire supply chain.
Furthermore, the company plans to work towards creating a system that enables sustainable growth in the logistics industry by promoting M&A and AI-driven digital transformation of logistics.
Regarding this fundraising round, President Mizuki Kusaka commented, "We want to return to our mission of unlocking the true potential of logistics and supporting all industries, and diligently and directly work towards solving industry challenges."
