On November 13, GLP Japan announced that "GLP ALFALINK Amagasaki," a logistics facility consisting of two buildings with a total floor area of approximately 370,000 square meters, which it had been developing in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, with an investment of approximately 140 billion yen, had been completed and was now operating at full capacity. This is the fourth facility under the ALFALINK brand, following "Sagamihara," "Nagareyama," and "Ibaraki."
The facility consists of "GLP ALFALINK Amagasaki South," a six-story building with a double rampway and a total floor area of approximately 242,420 m2, and "GLP ALFALINK Amagasaki North," a four-story box-shaped building with a total floor area of approximately 112,300 m2.
On the same day, GLP Japan signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Amagasaki City, which includes provisions for designating the facility as a temporary evacuation center in the event of a disaster. They also opened "ALCO GARDEN," a community support facility operated by the city, within the facility. In addition to utilizing the logistics facility as a disaster prevention base, they aim to make it an open hub for the community, providing support for childcare and school education.

At a press conference held on the 13th to mark the completion of the facility, Yoshiyuki Choza, president of GLP Japan, stated, "Until now, the logistics industry has been prone to falling into a deflationary spiral due to cost-cutting, and it has been difficult to promote employment. Furthermore, logistics facilities have not been welcomed by local residents. However, we realized that the closed nature of the facilities was a major factor in this aversion, so we have improved the working environment by installing a cafeteria and creating spaces where people can gather."
GLP ALFALINK Amagasaki is located 9km in a straight line from Osaka Station, approximately 30 minutes from central Osaka via National Route 43, and approximately 300m from the Amagasaki-Nishi Interchange on the Hanshin Expressway Route 3 Kobe Line, enabling wide-area distribution throughout the Kansai region.
Located a 7-minute walk from Amagasaki Center Pool-mae Station on the Hanshin Electric Railway Main Line, and close to a bus stop, the location is also good in terms of securing employees.
The surrounding area has a concentration of daily necessities manufacturers, food distribution companies, industrial manufacturers, and logistics companies such as 3PLs, and the demand for logistics facilities is expected to continue to increase.

Taking advantage of this prime location, Sagawa Express will occupy the first and second floors of "GLP ALFALINK Amagasaki South," making it one of the largest transit centers in the Kansai region. In addition, lease agreements have been concluded with a total of five companies, including Kantsu and Nippon Access. Furthermore, the shared building "ALCO BRIDGE" will include a restaurant and meeting rooms that can be used by local residents, creating a comfortable working environment while integrating with the local community.
The facility will be equipped with health-promoting recreational equipment, a multi-purpose court for activities such as futsal, and a undulating green area, creating a place of relaxation for the community.

On the 13th, a press conference was held, along with a signing ceremony for a comprehensive partnership agreement and an opening ceremony for "ALCO GARDEN." President Chosaka reiterated, "I hope people will feel fortunate to have a GLP logistics facility in Amagasaki." The plan is for people to run up the rampway to evacuate in the event of a tsunami.
Amagasaki Mayor Makoto Matsumoto said, "After visiting the facility, I was surprised at how robust the logistics facilities are, and I felt that we could evacuate there with peace of mind in the event of a disaster. Amagasaki has many industrial zones and areas at sea level, and we hear concerns about tsunamis. I hope that this facility will be used in a way that integrates logistics, industry, and daily life. As a city, we would like to actively use the facility for sports events, festivals, and other purposes as an asset to the city."
<Director Edagawa of Sagawa Express>

Furthermore, Kazuhiro Edagawa, a director at Sagawa Express, which has moved into the facility, said, "We have a large-scale logistics center called 'X Frontier' in Tokyo that started operations in 2021, and we wanted a facility in the Kansai region as well as a large-scale transit center that can transport goods to the Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions. We currently have four transit centers in Kansai, but we expect that consolidating them into one location will lead to increased efficiency in transportation and improved quality."
