The NX Group aims to reduce its own CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2 of the GHG Protocol) by 50% by 2030 compared to 2013 levels, and in May 2023, it submitted a commitment letter to obtain certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The Science-Based Targeting (SBTi) is a joint framework established by organizations such as the WWF and the United Nations Global Compact. It supports companies in setting Science-Based Targets (SBTs), which are goals aligned with scientific knowledge, and grants SBT certification to companies that are deemed to meet these standards.

In June 2025, the NX Group obtained certification for its SBT short-term targets, accelerating its efforts to reduce emissions in line with international standards.

Furthermore, while striving to reduce CO2 emissions in our own operations, we are also focusing on creating products and services that contribute to reducing our customers' CO2 emissions. The forum was held with the aim of sharing these efforts with our customers and co-creating solutions to advance Scope 3 (greenhouse gas emissions from other companies related to the activities of our company) reductions.

In the keynote speech, Masahiko Shibata, Principal of the Sustainability Consulting Department 2 at Mizuho Research & Technologies, spoke on the topic of "The Importance of Scope 3 Reductions and SBT Certification: Decarbonization Management in the Supply Chain." He emphasized that Scope 3 reductions are an unavoidable theme in global supply chains and that collaboration with business partners is key to maintaining competitiveness.
