Starting November 18, Yamato Transport will launch a "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Service" for corporate customers registered with its corporate membership service "Yamato Business Members (YBM)," which will calculate the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated during the transportation process, including parcel delivery.

The service's calculation method conforms to the international standard ISO 14083:2023, enabling a more accurate calculation of GHG emissions. Furthermore, because the calculation process is automated, results can be provided in as little as two business days after application.

The products included in the calculation are Takkyubin, Takkyubin Compact, and EAZY. The calculation method is based on the international standard ISO 14083:2023 and uses methods such as the "fuel method" and "fuel consumption method".

The calculation results are provided by aggregating GHG emissions based on the size of the packages received, their origin and destination, and the number of packages shipped. The total emissions are then provided on a monthly basis as a "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report." The report can be downloaded from the YBM website in PDF or CSV format.

Addressing climate change is an urgent issue for the entire international community. With the globalization of supply chains, the international standard ISO 14083:2023 for calculating GHG emissions in the logistics sector was issued in March 2023 to calculate GHG emissions based on common international standards that more accurately reflect actual conditions.

Furthermore, the Cabinet Office Ordinance revised in 2023 established a new section for "Approach and Initiatives Regarding Sustainability" in securities reports, and the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ) published the Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SSBJ Standards) in March 2025. It is expected that companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime will be required to disclose information in accordance with the SSBJ Standards in stages, depending on their size, and many companies are being forced to take action.
