Ensuring "safety" and "quality" is of paramount importance in the logistics industry. As part of its efforts to improve company-wide safety awareness, enhance drivers' driving skills, and reduce accidents, the company has decided to hold a driver contest.
The contest involves competing in a "practical skills competition" using 4-ton trucks to demonstrate driving techniques in confined spaces, and a "written test" that assesses specialized knowledge of safe driving. The ranking is determined by the total score from both tests.
The practical competition takes place on a "octopus pot course," a narrow, rectangular space with only one entrance and exit. Participants must enter the space forward, make a U-turn to change direction, and then exit while remaining forward. The competition evaluates the precise vehicle control required of the driver.
This time, nine drivers selected from the company's locations across the country are scheduled to participate in the contest. Isuzu Motors Metropolitan Area will be in charge of explaining the competition, conducting driving demonstrations, providing safety training, and judging the competition, supporting the contest with their expert knowledge.
Going forward, this contest will be positioned as a platform for ongoing education and training, and efforts will continue to ensure that all drivers maintain a high level of awareness and skills as professionals in safe driving, with the goal of achieving an accident rate of 5% (number of accidents / number of vehicles owned).
