This will double the production capacity for automated machine products such as ATMs, strengthening a stable supply system to global customers.
Since commencing operations in 2019, OKI's Vietnam plant has played a crucial role as a global production base for automated machine products, primarily ATMs. With the opening of the new plant, production capacity will be approximately doubled, and the plant will consolidate production of medium and large-scale equipment, as well as common units, as a mass production facility.
OKI Tomioka Manufacturing (Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture), located in Japan, serves as the mother factory, handling the launch of new products, the transfer of production to the Vietnam factory, and responding to variable-mix, variable-volume and customer-customized production, thereby reforming the entire OKI Group into an efficient and flexible production system.
In recent years, while the world has moved towards a cashless society, the amount of currency in circulation has been increasing, and there remains a strong demand for cash. In particular, demand for ATMs is growing in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, and in India, and OKI is actively promoting ATM deployment not only in Japan but also in these growing overseas markets.
