On November 18, Fairway Solutions published a case study of Nakamuraya as an example of its supply and demand adjustment and inventory optimization solution, "Φ-Pilot Series" (Φ-Pilot), on its website.
<Nakamuraya implements the supply and demand adjustment and inventory optimization solution "Φ-Pilot Series">

According to the report, the challenges Nakamuraya faced before implementing the system included: "Each department managed sales plans and inventory replenishment plans using Excel, resulting in fragmented information and time-consuming sharing and decision-making processes"; "Time was spent preparing for coordination meetings and analyzing data, leading to delayed responses"; and "There was a heavy workload due to many tasks such as data entry and aggregation that relied heavily on individual employees."
Regarding the countermeasures and their effects, the company states that "sales plans and inventory replenishment plans are now centrally managed within the system, unifying the understanding of planned values that previously differed across departments. This has enabled quick and accurate decision-making based on common indicators," "short meetings three times a week using Φ-Pilot allow for real-time situation checks and speedy decision-making," and "reducing reliance on individual employees by standardizing inventory levels and minimizing Excel data entry has resulted in an annual reduction of approximately 1500 hours of work in the East Japan area alone."
The case study begins with specific challenges, then discusses the deciding factors for implementation, the changes within the company, and even the difficulties encountered during the implementation process. Finally, it concludes with a vision for the future, stating, "We plan to expand implementation to the West Japan area and promote the unification of sales planning and supply and demand adjustments at a nationwide level."
