By strengthening the BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and enhancing the resilience of the parcel delivery network, we aim to support the lives and industries of the Noto region.

The Ishikawa Suzu Sales Office, which was damaged in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in January 2024 and is currently operating in a temporary location, will be relocated and begin full-scale operations as the first phase of a sustainable logistics infrastructure hub in the Noto region.

The Noto Peninsula Earthquake caused extensive damage to the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, and the company's four delivery service offices (Ishikawa Suzu Office, Ishikawa Wajima Office, Ishikawa Anamizu Office, and Ishikawa Nanao Office) were also affected. Immediately after the disaster, the company quickly resumed operations using temporary offices and emergency measures, and has been working diligently to collect and deliver packages and transport relief supplies.

The Noto region is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and heavy rains, and its population has been declining rapidly since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. On the other hand, it is a region with many attractions, including the beautiful nature symbolized by "Noto's Satoyama and Satoumi," Japan's first World Agricultural Heritage site, as well as fresh seafood and Noto beef, and traditional crafts and culture represented by "Wajima lacquerware."

The company stated that it will continue to strengthen its parcel delivery network as a social infrastructure, supporting the lives of people in the Noto region and contributing to regional revitalization. Furthermore, it plans to collaborate with local businesses and municipalities to create new value propositions.

Located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, the Ishikawa Suzu office has limited access to other cities. As a result, roads and lifelines were cut off during the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, forcing a temporary suspension of services. The new office incorporates BCP (Business Continuity Plan) measures based on the lessons learned from the disaster. It is a sustainable base that is resilient to natural disasters and environmentally conscious, incorporating features such as electric vehicles and solar panels.

For power outage countermeasures, solar panels, storage batteries, and V2H (a system that allows power to be supplied from an EV to the building) have been installed. For water outage countermeasures, water storage tanks and a rainwater harvesting system have been installed (scheduled for installation in 2026). For people unable to return home, accommodation rooms and shower rooms have been set up, and disaster relief supplies are being stored there.

On November 22nd, from 11:00 to 15:00, we will hold an opening celebration event for the Ishikawa Suzu branch office for local residents.
