Following the opening of the "Shizuoka Shimizu Hydrogen Station" by ENEOS in March on the site of the former Shimizu refinery, this initiative aims to expand the use of hydrogen mobility at Shimizu Port. Six companies, including Suzuyo, will introduce one "Toyota Crown Z," and two companies, including Aoki Trans, will introduce one "Toyota MIRAI," which will be used as company vehicles.

Shimizu Port has been designated as a priority port under the "Carbon Neutral Port Formation Plan," which is being promoted by Shizuoka Prefecture under the policy of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. With decarbonization required throughout the region, the eight companies have stated that they will take the lead in decarbonizing Shimizu Port through the introduction of fuel cell vehicles and other measures.
