Pal System East, which handles logistics for the Pal System Group, held its "2nd Driver Contest" at the Pal System Tsukuba Mirai Center (Ibaraki Prefecture) on November 29th.
Drivers selected from 15 sales offices in Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Chiba prefectures participated in a contest to compete in safe, accurate, and speedy driving. The contest was divided into two categories: the "Lifestyle Logistics Division" (1.5-ton trucks) which handles deliveries to customers, and the "Main Transport Division" (4-ton trucks) which handles transportation from logistics centers to distribution centers.
In the lifestyle logistics category competition, participants compete against the clock while navigating a set course that includes slalom and narrow-lane maneuvers, all while avoiding contact with other vehicles.
In the core logistics division, participants compete in two challenges: "octopus trap competition," where they maneuver a truck into a narrow space, making precise turns to turn it around and escape, and "rag stepping," where they must stop the left rear wheel in a designated space.

They expressed their joy, saying, "I'm just so happy," and "This is all thanks to the guidance of everyone at my workplace."
Pal System East stated that "safe driving is essential to ensure that products are delivered reliably to our customers," and that they will continue to strive for accident-free operations.
