On December 3rd, Phoxter announced that it had delivered its 3D shuttle system to the R&D center at Nichirei Logistics Group headquarters and had begun demonstration testing of an automated logistics system suitable for the cold chain sector.
Based on advanced technologies that enable stable operation even in environments as low as -20°C, we will proceed with the development of next-generation low-temperature logistics models.
A key feature of the 3D shuttle system is its stable operation in low-temperature environments. The system is designed to operate reliably even in harsh conditions as low as -20°C. It automates tasks inside freezers that previously relied on manual labor and forklifts, achieving both labor savings and increased efficiency.
The system also aims to maximize storage efficiency. The 3D shuttle can move freely in three dimensions (length, width, and height), reducing unnecessary aisles. Furthermore, it eliminates "fixed locations" that previously required manual management, enabling "free location management" by robots. This allows for the storage of more pallets in the same area.
Furthermore, the entire system will be optimized. By linking the 3D shuttle with AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots), the entire process from receiving to shipping will be digitally integrated and controlled. The goal is to optimize storage and transportation without interruption, creating a flexible and highly scalable system.
Furthermore, the company will also move towards dynamic work planning. 3D Shuttle's unique system will track pallet locations and quantities within the warehouse in real time, instantly updating work plans in response to demand fluctuations and truck arrivals. This shift from the traditional "static batch" model to a "dynamic, real-time" model aims to create a logistics operation that is more resilient to change.
The benefits of implementation include reduced working hours, improved working conditions and reduced manpower, and expanded storage capacity.
The company believes that its efforts to reduce manpower and streamline operations are accelerating, driven by the revised Logistics Efficiency Law, and that its flexible and scalable AMR/3D shuttle system will play a central role in these efforts. It aims to create a system that dynamically optimizes work sequences to address social issues such as reducing truck waiting times and promoting joint delivery. Taking this introduction as an opportunity, the company plans to pursue the optimal solution for transportation efficiency and develop a system that contributes to the realization of "white logistics" (ethically efficient logistics).
