Itochu Logistics announced on December 5th that it has established a new bonded warehouse within its "Tsukuba Medical Logistics Center" in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
In collaboration with its subsidiary Kanroji, an authorized customs broker under the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) system, the company will establish a hub for handling international shipments of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
The newly established bonded warehouse has facilities for both refrigeration (2-8°C) and room temperature (1-30°C). This will enable the provision of high-quality services in conjunction with air transport.
Itochu Logistics has been registered and operating as a manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic pharmaceuticals and medical devices since May 2022. In light of the trend towards strengthening security for air cargo, and the anticipated increase in the complexity of export procedures due to explosives inspections and other measures, the company plans to establish a smoother and more efficient operational system for import and export cargo.
