Hamana Packaging & Transportation announced on December 5th that it will introduce environmentally friendly electric trucks to contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and realize logistics that is kind to the local community and the planet through quiet and clean operation.
The company is actively introducing the latest technologies with the aim of setting a new industry standard, and the introduction of EV trucks is part of that effort.
Regarding the introduction, the plant manager stated, "For short-distance runs, the exhaust gas purification system tends to clog easily, requiring time for regeneration and causing difficulties for the drivers. I believe that EV trucks will eliminate this stress and allow for more comfortable operation. Furthermore, we expect a reduction in CO2 emissions from an environmental perspective and optimization of fuel costs from a business perspective."
One driver commented, "I've been working here for a long time, but I never thought I'd be driving an EV truck. This is my first time driving an EV, and it's very quiet, but it will probably take some time to get used to operating it. I want to take good care of it and keep it in good condition."
Furthermore, they have introduced pallet transport robots to automate pallet handling. They aim to improve efficiency and safety on site and create an environment where staff can work more efficiently.
