On December 8, Meito announced that, in response to the simplified customs clearance system for small parcels of sea cargo and the 7th NACCS update, it had obtained import permission from the Osaka Customs Nanko Branch Office for a parcel of sea cargo that arrived at Osaka Port on December 2, based on the said system.
In recent years, with the rapid expansion of cross-border e-commerce leading to an increase in small-lot imports, issues such as the influx of illegal drugs and intellectual property infringing goods have become apparent. In response, the Ministry of Finance and Customs introduced a simplified import customs clearance system for maritime cargo in October of this year, coinciding with the launch of the 7th NACCS (National Accident Carrier Service System).
The company, which handles customs clearance and bonded warehouse operations, has a proven track record in customs clearance and bonded warehouse operations for cross-border e-commerce cargo, primarily in the Osaka Nanko area.
This time, for sea parcels (including cross-border e-commerce orders from TEMU, Amazon, etc.) that arrived at Osaka Port on a Japan-China international ferry from Shanghai, China, we implemented simplified customs clearance based on the new system and handled everything from storage to sorting at the bonded warehouse in a seamless manner.
Furthermore, because we own our own X-ray inspection equipment, we have established a system to identify high-risk cargo in advance, and we work in cooperation with customs to support the maintenance of fair trade and the assurance of social security.
Furthermore, the introduction of fully automated sorting conveyors and automated measuring devices enables high processing capacity.
