Toyotsu Logistics, a member of the Toyota Tsusho Group, announced that it has switched all of its logistics centers that are eligible to use renewable energy electricity, starting from November 1st.
This will result in virtually zero Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity use: greenhouse gases (GHGs) indirectly emitted when a company uses electricity, heat, and steam purchased or supplied by other companies) GHG emissions.
In this initiative, Toyota Tsusho Energy, acting as an intermediary, provided a "renewable energy power supply scheme" to introduce electricity from Eurus Green Energy. Furthermore, the environmental value generated at Eurus Energy Group power plants (within the Toyota Tsusho Group) is added, making it possible to use electricity with virtually zero GHG emissions.
The company's mission is to "deliver a better planet to future generations," and it aims to reduce its GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels.
