On December 16, Nexa Ware, a joint venture between Tsubakimoto Chain and KDDI, began a trial installation of the "3D Nexus Sorter," a 3D cross-belt sorter developed and manufactured by GINFON, at the Kisai Logistics Sales Office of Ryutsu Service in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture, in order to improve the efficiency of frozen and refrigerated food sorting operations.

The shipping process for frozen foods has to be carried out under various conditions, including product size, shape, and shipping method, and there are many space constraints, which has led to a slow adoption of automation and labor-saving equipment.

The 3D Nexus Sorter employs a height-adjustable, high-speed cross-belt sorting system to improve the efficiency of shipping operations in limited spaces. It supports a variety of layouts (loop, L-shape) and, with its combination of rails and cross-belt sorting, can handle items that tend to roll, such as balls.

The cross-belt carrier system, which freely raises and lowers while traveling at high speed in a loop, enables accurate sorting and a high sorting capacity of up to 6000 items per hour. This prevents shipping errors and enables high-quality, highly efficient shipping operations in a space-saving manner.

Here's a video showing the 3D Nexus Sorter in action.

Designed and configured in units, the system can accommodate various layouts simply by combining standard units according to installation conditions. It can also flexibly handle equipment expansion and relocation work, and easily adapt to changes in volume, cargo handled, and location.

Furthermore, by monitoring sorter operation data in real time, remote service is included as standard in the event of a failure. This enables rapid recovery, proactive alarms to prevent failures, and provision of maintenance information.
