The competition is organized by the Japan Transport Ecology & Mobility Foundation and supported by the National Police Agency, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Ministry of the Environment, among others.
The award went to the Hadano Sales Office (Kanagawa Prefecture), which was recognized for its continuous efforts in seven areas, including the establishment of an eco-driving promotion system in daily operations management, objective operations management utilizing driving data, and awareness-raising activities and social contributions to the local community.
One example of a positive evaluation point was the holding of a "Traffic Safety and Environmental Conservation Workshop" at Shibusawa Elementary School in Hadano City, Kanagawa Prefecture, where the company is based.
In recent years, there has been a nationwide increase in accidents involving large vehicles and children during their commutes to and from school. Therefore, the workshop provided children with an opportunity to experience firsthand the importance of traffic safety and understand the dangers posed by blind spots and inner wheel differences unique to trucks.
Going forward, Takaki Logistics Service plans to further strengthen information sharing both internally and externally, and promote the reduction of environmental impact and the widespread adoption of safe operations throughout the Andersen Group.
