On December 17, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) formulated "NAV9000 Plus," an evolution of its proprietary safety standard "NAV9000," which is intended for its group's operating vessels, shipowners, and ship management companies. To be implemented from April 2026, the company aims to further enhance the safety quality of its operating vessels through careful follow-up with target parties, based on the themes of "support" and "co-creation."

In "NAV9000 Plus," the "absolutely non-negotiable safety standards" are codified as the "NYK Golden Rule," and all parties involved pursue safety based on the same values.
By breaking down the assessment results and illustrating them with diagrams, we can visualize strengths and weaknesses, and implement follow-up measures tailored to each individual's characteristics.
Furthermore, ambassadors who have a thorough understanding of the "NAV9000 Plus" concept will be appointed for each division—dry bulk carriers, car carriers, LNG carriers, and tankers—to establish a comprehensive follow-up system for each vessel type.
Furthermore, depending on the vessel management structure, if management is handled by a company outside the group, follow-up will be provided using the ambassador system. If management is handled by the group, an approach will be taken within the company to ensure optimal support.
