Kawasaki Kisen held an "unveiling and viewing event" for its new liquefied CO2 carrier, "NORTHERN PHOENIX," for Northern Lights, at the Yokohama Port Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal on December 16th and 17th.
NORTHERN PHOENIX is the third liquefied CO2 carrier engaged in the "Northern Lights project," the world's first full-scale carbon capture and storage project. It transports CO2 captured from customers outside Norway to Northern Lights' receiving base in Øigaden, western Norway.
Approximately 150 guests, including representatives from Japan and Norway, as well as members of the media, were invited to the tour. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) Chairman Koichi Myochin and President Takenori Igarashi attended and expressed their commitment to realizing a sustainable society through the Northern Lights project.
