Nippon Yusen and Lighthouse announced on December 18th that they have jointly developed "N-DOX," a document management support platform utilizing AI generation. This platform will significantly streamline document management tasks such as checking massive amounts of contracts and identifying discrepancies during contract renewals, thereby advancing the digital transformation (DX) of the shipping industry.

"N-DOX" comprehensively handles document management, variance analysis, rule checking, and impact analysis. Designed as a highly scalable platform, it aims to support all document-related tasks in the future.

One of the benefits of introducing the contract review function is that "N-DOX" handles the double-check, preventing human error. In particular, in the dry bulk division, there are many situations where contract decisions must be made in a short amount of time due to contract signing deadlines and market fluctuations, and "N-DOX" will play a supporting role in preventing the oversight of risks hidden in contracts.

By having AI handle initial checks, employees can focus on higher-value tasks such as final decisions and negotiations, leading to digital transformation (DX) that transforms the business process itself.

Nippon Yusen's DX Promotion Group had been receiving inquiries from various departments within the company regarding the digital transformation of the creation and review of various documents, including contracts. In addition, the dry bulk division was spending an enormous amount of time checking charter agreements concluded between shipowners and charterers, and identifying points that needed updating.

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) revamps its internal system infrastructure with the aim of standardizing and streamlining operations.
