Marubeni Network Solutions, part of the IT Infrastructure Services Segment of the Marubeni I-DIGIO Group, announced on December 19th that it will begin offering a "New Logistics Efficiency Law Countermeasure Solution" to support compliance with the revised Comprehensive Logistics Efficiency Law.
This solution combines license plate detection cameras installed at the entrances and exits of logistics centers with an AIBOX and a license plate management cloud to automatically acquire and store truck entry and exit times, allowing users to check the status of multiple locations in real time via a web browser.
Furthermore, it streamlines the management of entry/exit history and dwell time, and helps reduce the workload of measurement and reporting tasks. In the future, it is possible to expand the system to include visualization of bottlenecks through integration with reservation systems, entry/exit management, and weighing systems, as well as detection and automatic guidance of vehicles without reservations.
One key advantage is that it eliminates the need for on-site LAN wiring work, thus reducing costs. It can also be integrated with existing systems by using API-based data transmission (an optional feature).
The Comprehensive Logistics Efficiency Improvement Act, promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, imposes a "duty to make efforts" to measure and improve waiting and handling times on certain shippers and logistics operators starting in fiscal year 2025. From April 2026 onwards, designated shippers and other operators will be required to submit periodic reports on their implementation status.
