Nissin Medical Foods is responsible for providing catering services to hospitals and welfare facilities nationwide. The ordering process, which supports the operations, involves handling approximately 2000 products per warehouse, making it a demanding job that requires experience and intuition.
By introducing "α-Ordering," this ordering process has been standardized using AI, automating 80% of SKUs. By moving away from reliance on individual expertise and significantly reducing the workload, we are building a system that can more reliably support the stable supply of food to hospitals and facilities nationwide.
As a result, the ordering process, which had previously required a team of five people, can now be handled by a team of four, reducing the ordering time by more than one hour per day. Furthermore, the introduction of AI has reduced inconsistencies in judgment among individual staff members, making it easier to manage inventory while minimizing the risk of stockouts.
