Rinko Corporation announced on December 19th that it will acquire all shares of NX Nihonkai Warehouse (Niigata City), currently held by Nippon Express, and make it a subsidiary. The share transfer is scheduled to be executed on April 1, 2026, and the acquisition price is not disclosed due to an agreement between the parties.

Rinko operates port cargo handling operations at Niigata Port, and also owns warehouses and sheds at the port, handling cargo storage, temporary storage, and loading/unloading. Meanwhile, NX Nihonkai Warehouse owns general warehouses and temperature-controlled warehouses at Niigata West Port, and provides services that meet a wide variety of customer needs.

By making it a subsidiary, we aim to increase cargo storage capacity in the Niigata West Port area and maximize corporate value by incorporating the warehousing expertise that NX Nihonkai Warehouse has cultivated.

Furthermore, on December 19, NIPPON EXPRESS Holdings also announced that NX Nihonkai Warehouse would be removed from its consolidated subsidiary Nippon Express, stating that "after comprehensively considering factors such as the profitability of Nihonkai Warehouse, located in Nishiko, the synergy effects within the NX Group, and future growth potential, we have decided to transfer it to Rinko."
