20251224marubenilogi - Marubeni Logistics opens 2.7 m2 logistics center in Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture, to strengthen its apparel business.

The facility will occupy the first floor of "Goodman Joso 2," a large-scale logistics facility with five floors and a total floor area of 159,869.65 m2. It is planned to be operated in stages by multiple shippers, and by May 2026, it will become a logistics center with a total floor area of approximately 26,887.74 m2.

In terms of location, it is very close to the Ken-O Expressway's "Joso Interchange" and a 14-minute walk from the Kanto Railway Joso Line's "Mitsuma Station".

The aim of establishing the center is to leverage its strengths as a trading company-affiliated 3PL provider to flexibly respond to challenges unique to the apparel and footwear industry.

Given the business characteristics of significant fluctuations in volume, we secured warehouse space that prioritizes flexibility. Furthermore, we are working to review operations and address labor shortages.

By implementing a single-floor operation, warehouse operations will be streamlined, and labor-saving material handling systems will be introduced that specialize in scalable sorting functions for diverse customers.

Going forward, we will gradually transfer existing customers to our logistics center while also expanding the space at our logistics center to attract new customers.
