Wakamatsu Packaging & Transportation Warehouse, a member of the Daiwa House Group, will launch a "Next Generation Child Rearing Allowance" program on January 1, 2026, providing up to 1 million yen to full-time employees whose children are born.
Under the new system, if a full-time employee or their spouse gives birth, 500,000 yen will be paid for each child. Additionally, 100,000 yen will be paid each time a child enters elementary, middle, or high school. After that, 100,000 yen will be paid for attending junior college or vocational school, and 200,000 yen for attending university.
A lump-sum payment will be provided at the time of birth and at the time of entering higher education, totaling up to 100 million yen.
On January 1, 2026, Wakamatsu Packaging & Transportation Warehouse will absorb and merge with its three group companies: Wakamatsu Transportation, Just Logistics, and Japan Logistics Management. Taking this opportunity, the company has decided to improve its systems and policies to create a workplace environment where employees can work with peace of mind and thrive for the long term.
As part of this initiative, the current "birth celebration payment" system, which provides up to 10,000 yen per child at birth, and the "allowance" system, which provides a fixed amount monthly depending on family circumstances and the child's schooling status, will be abolished, and a new "next-generation child-rearing lump-sum payment" will be introduced.
