The SGH Disaster Relief Support Foundation was established by SG Holdings with the aim of creating a sustainable and flexible support framework that connects the government and private companies and provides logistics support during disasters, leveraging the disaster relief expertise that the SGHD Group has cultivated over the years.
Since its establishment, the foundation has worked closely with the government to strengthen its rapid support and assistance system. To this end, it has signed two business cooperation agreements with the Cabinet Office: one on April 14, 2025, concerning push-type relief supplies, and another on December 18, 2025, concerning equipment and materials for medical care utilizing ships, in order to improve the medical support system.

The application for public benefit certification is a result of the belief that, in the course of pursuing agreements with the Cabinet Office and initiatives that meet high social demands, the above activities should not be limited to temporary support, but should be sustainably developed as social infrastructure possessing public benefit, transparency, and trustworthiness.
Having received certification as a public interest incorporated foundation, the foundation states that it will further strengthen its collaboration with the government, local authorities, and private companies, and work to establish a new disaster prevention and mitigation model that involves industry, academia, government, and the private sector working together.
