On December 17, Yamanashi Prefecture held a kick-off meeting for the "Regional Logistics Council," which aims to build a sustainable logistics infrastructure that supports the region through public-private partnerships.

The Regional Logistics Council was established to promote the optimization of joint delivery and the securing of emergency supplies transportation methods, including drones, on a wide-area basis. At the kick-off meeting, Yamanashi Prefecture Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, mayors of municipalities in the Kyonan and eastern regions of Yamanashi Prefecture, and logistics operators gathered together to confirm their commitment to building a sustainable logistics network and creating a new system to protect livelihoods and industries.
This move aligns with the "Phase-Free Logistics System" proposed by the National New Smart Logistics Promotion Council, which aims to foster collaboration between local governments and logistics operators. The establishment of a regional logistics council by a prefecture is the first of its kind in Japan.
The kickoff meeting was attended by Naomi Funaki, Vice Chairperson and Mayor of Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, from the National New Smart Logistics Promotion Council; Keisuke Toji, Director and CEO of NEXT DELIVERY; and Hideharu Kawai, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Seino Holdings and President of Seino Last One Mile.
