On December 13, Nomura Real Estate held a facility exploration tour at "Landport Yokohama Sugita," a large-scale logistics facility in Kanazawa Ward, Yokohama City, which was jointly developed with IHI, with the aim of revitalizing the local area.
This project was a collaboration with businesses and shops along the Seaside Line, and involved over 40 local residents. They were shown the facility as an "open-share" type, and how it can be used as an evacuation center in the event of a large-scale disaster.

"Landport Yokohama Sugita" is a large-scale multi-tenant facility with four floors above ground, a total floor area of 163,409.47 m2, and double rampways.
This facility focuses on creating an environment of "automation" and "labor saving," including the construction of an automated storage warehouse. It was developed with the aim of widely sharing the facility's plaza and other areas as venues for local events and as a disaster prevention base. A disaster prevention agreement has been concluded with Kanazawa Ward in Yokohama City, and the facility will be used as a tsunami evacuation facility.

The tour introduced the concept behind these facilities. In addition to showing the interior of the warehouses, it also guided visitors through the distinctive features of the facilities that are normally off-limits, such as the automated storage warehouses and the smart community farm located on the roof.
In addition, as part of local disaster prevention activities, lectures were given on topics such as the harsh realities of life in evacuation shelters based on actual experiences during the Great East Japan Earthquake, the importance of preparing disaster supplies, and the importance of parents and children discussing actions to take and meeting places in the event of a disaster on a regular basis.
Participants commented, "I never imagined there was such an amazing warehouse nearby. It was great to learn that it makes extensive use of the latest technology and serves not only as a warehouse but also as a community-oriented facility," and "I don't usually go inside logistics facilities, so learning that they also have rooftop gardens and are prepared as evacuation shelters changed my image of logistics facilities."
Furthermore, since "Landport Yokohama Sugita" began operating at full capacity in April 2025, it has conducted more than 20 activities, including facility tours, disaster preparedness improvements, and community collaboration, and intends to continue promoting exchange through the facility in the future.
