Mitsubishi HC Capital and Cuebus, which provides the "CUEBUS" three-dimensional robotic warehouse system using its own developed linear motor, announced on December 26 that they have entered into a capital and business alliance agreement.
We will build and provide a subscription-based service called "CUEBUS" with the aim of automating and streamlining logistics centers.
"CUEBUS" is the world's first urban-type, multi-story robotic warehouse system driven by linear motors. Its high-density storage design eliminates the need for aisles, allowing for efficient storage up to near the ceiling.
Its features include the ability to quickly pick items by having all shelves operate simultaneously, and ease of installation and relocation.
Based on this partnership, both companies will create an environment that facilitates the introduction of "CUEBUS" into logistics centers.
Specifically, we will work together with customers to develop and provide a subscription-based service that includes everything from identifying challenges to formulating implementation plans, as well as providing comprehensive operational support after implementation.
While expectations for the use of robots are rising, many companies are cautious about capital investment, leading to increased interest in subscription models that can be implemented flexibly while minimizing initial costs.
In April 2024, Mitsubishi HC Capital established the "Robotics Business Development Department" to accelerate the development and promotion of new businesses in the robotics field. They are working to address labor shortages by collaborating with partners possessing cutting-edge technologies.
The partnership utilized an "innovation investment fund" that is operated with the aim of creating new services and promoting the development of new businesses through open innovation with startup companies.
