On February 13, Kantsu decided to transfer the rights and obligations of its cybersecurity consulting business to a wholly owned subsidiary, "Cyber Governance Lab," which will be established through a corporate spin-off. The transfer is scheduled to take effect on April 1.
In October 2024, Kantsu suffered a ransomware cyberattack. In the process of implementing business continuity and recovery measures, they gained a wealth of knowledge regarding cyberattack preparedness, initial response, recovery processes, internal and external communication, and insurance coordination.
We determined that the best way to systematize this experience as know-how and give back to society was to spin off the business and connect it to the overall business growth and increased corporate value of the group.
Effective April 1st, the company plans to transition to a new organizational structure that includes the absorption-type split of its East and West Logistics Businesses and IT Business, as well as a name change for Kantsu. By separating the cybersecurity domain into an independent legal entity, the company aims to accelerate highly specialized business operations, alliances with external companies, and joint development.
