Toyo Kanetsu began installing and operating solar power generation equipment at its Wakayama Plant (Arida City, Wakayama Prefecture), a major factory for its logistics solutions business, on February 12th.

This implementation will not only replace approximately 20% of the factory's electricity consumption with renewable energy, but will also function as an emergency power source during disasters, contributing to improved business continuity and regional disaster preparedness.
While the Wakayama plant has already achieved virtually zero CO2 emissions as of fiscal year 2022 through the purchase of non-fossil fuel certificates, this initiative will shift a portion of its power consumption to more sustainable non-fossil fuel power sources for self-consumption.
Furthermore, based on the experience of having part of the factory flooded and some operations suspended due to heavy rains in June 2023, the company has newly installed waterproof walls and water-stopping plates. This aims to reduce the risk of flooding at the main factory, thereby ensuring the preservation of production functions and improving business continuity.
