On April 1st, Kamigumi renamed its Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) establishment preparation office, which it had been preparing to establish, to the "CVC Business Office" and officially began operations.

Against the backdrop of social challenges in the logistics industry, such as driver shortages and regulations on long working hours, there is growing interest in the introduction of digital transformation (DX) including AI-driven dispatch optimization, autonomous driving, and robotics.

In line with the basic policy of our medium-term management plan, which is "business expansion to meet new logistics needs," we will leverage Kamigumi's experience and work to strengthen existing operations, create new businesses, and solve customer and social issues through co-creation with startup companies from which we can expect synergies.

The investment areas will be "DX/AI utilization," "growth markets and untapped areas," and "decarbonization/SX." Initially, investments will be primarily focused on Japan, but overseas markets will be considered in the medium to long term. The strategy is to expand broadly, focusing on early-stage and mid-stage investments.

Kamigumi: Vice President Norihito Tahara will assume the position of President effective April 1, 2026.
